OWT Offshore Wind Technology

In 2001, the shareholders of OWT recognized the developing market of the offshore wind industry very early and decided to focus their respective experience and competences. It turns out that the task of constructing suitable foundation structures for this purpose has been unsolved to date. This decided the development direction of the first years and the orientation as an engineering service provider. OWT became a pioneer for foundation structures and thus a recognized office of comprehensive topics around offshore wind.
Thus, OWT accompanied many German projects in their development and made energetic contributions at many points which underline the pioneer character: first design basis and preliminary drafts, one of the first offshore measuring masts, engineering for the first German test wind farm alpha ventus and the like. The next few years saw the construction of the Borkum and Global Tech I wind farms, which in turn were among the very first German wind farms.
Since 2015, OWT’s competences have been expanding towards mechanical engineering and especially shipbuilding tasks, in addition to civil engineering. Today, maritime services are offered and performed on a larger scale.
OWT benefits from almost 20 years of experience in many areas in and around wind energy offshore and onshore as well as marine operations, steel construction, classic design and much more and want to continuously develop further in these areas.

Ørsted vision is a world that runs entirely on green energy. As the global market leader for offshore wind energy, the company already supplies around 1.4 million German households with green energy – with 2.5 million planned by 2025. Worldwide, Ørsted also plans, builds and operates onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage and biomass power plants. With green hydrogen projects, Ørsted wants to accelerate the decarbonization of traditionally emissions-intensive sectors, such as transport and heavy industry.
