AquaVentus calls for prompt tendering for the expansion of offshore electrolysis
Initiative presents Project Showcast film on green hydrogen from the North Sea
Heligoland/Berlin, January 22, 2024. At the presentation of a new Project Showcast film, Jörg Singer, Chairman of the AquaVentus initiative, sees the early start of the auction for the SEN-1 North Sea area as a key prerequisite for the ramp-up of the hydrogen market: “For the production of green hydrogen in the North Sea, we need suitable areas and an efficient auction design. With the tender for the SEN-1 area, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy now has a unique opportunity to ensure both and to ensure innovation and security of supply.” However, this must be done as quickly as possible and with sufficient predictability for all parties involved.
