In recent years, CARNEADES has been involved in several large both onshore and offshore wind farm projects. We offer extensive experience and a network of specialists, so we can draw on the expertise of almost 20 years in the field of wind energy, or wind turbines.
CARNEADES offers a range of services in the development and execution phases of the projects. During the development phase, CARNEADES supports its clients in all regulatory, commercial planning and procurement matters, e.g. by drafting supply and installation contracts and supporting the tendering process for the main work packages by taking a lead role in the negotiations. CARNEADES uses its contract management and legal expertise to achieve the best results for our clients.
McDermott has a fleet of derrick barges, construction and pipe-laying vessels, and support vessels capable of transporting and installing complex oil and gas structures such as jackets, topsides, and subsea structures. The fleet is capable of laying pipelines in S-lay, reel-lay and flex-lay from shallow to deep water. In recent years, McDermott has invested significantly in its fleet, adding modern and highly efficient dynamically positioned pipeline and construction vessels. The flagship DLV 2000 was launched in 2016, and in 2017 McDermott acquired Amazon, which will be upgraded for the ultra-deepwater market with a state-of-the-art J-Lay system equipped with the latest technology.

Many years of experience, extensive capacities and its prime location directly on the river Elbe make the port logistics company Cuxport a sought-after partner for offshore projects in the North Sea. Cuxport develops, implements and coordinates complex logistics concepts for the wind energy industry. We store, assemble and handle even the heaviest turbine components. As a service port, we are also available for maintenance, repair and installation. For us, the membership in AquaVentus is one thing above all: a commitment to the energy transition.
As an emission-free alternative to petroleum, green hydrogen is a key component of the energy transition. The AquaVentus initiative intends to set signals worldwide with climate-friendly hydrogen technology and uses Heligoland as an optimal real laboratory to contribute to the goals of the German and European hydrogen strategy in a sustainable way.
AquaVentus’ visionary project: 10 gigawatts of generation capacity for green hydrogen from offshore wind energy by 2035 and its transport on land. One million tons of green hydrogen per year could soon be produced.
The plans and visualizations presented show that Heligoland will continue to be a unique natural paradise and will not develop into an industrial island. Accordingly, the unique character of the island is not touched. Thus, the people of Heligoland are once again demonstrating their pioneering spirit and showing the world that what is being developed here on the island can very well serve as a blueprint for other locations.
