Stiftung OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE
Non-partisan voice and think tank for offshore wind in Germany and Europe
Stiftung OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE was founded in 2005 on the initiative of the environment ministry and has established itself as an independent, non-partisan institution promoting wind energy at sea. As a networking and communication platform it connects stakeholders from politics, industry and science and acts as the sector's central voice towards policymakers.
With 9.7 GW of installed capacity and 1,680 offshore wind turbines currently in Germany, the foundation actively accompanies the expansion of offshore wind: through policy work, studies, position papers and cross-sector cooperation. Its goal is to establish offshore wind as an indispensable part of the European energy mix and to advance its expansion in the interest of climate protection and energy sovereignty.
