SEN-1 Pioneer Projects
First large-scale offshore hydrogen production — 1,000 MW on 100 km²
The SEN-1 pioneer projects mark the transition from demonstration to industrial production: 1,000 MW of electrolysis capacity on a 100 km² zone in the North Sea, intended to produce up to 100,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.
The BSH designated the SEN-1 zone at 102 km² in the Site Development Plan 2023. Connection is provided via the AquaDuctus pipeline. The BMWE is conducting the tendering process for the sites.
