A research site unique in Europe, located off the coast of Helgoland
AquaCampus is a 3 km² research site just a few nautical miles off Helgoland — marked by 8 yellow buoys in water depths of up to 45 metres. Here, researchers and companies test above- and underwater technologies under real offshore conditions.
From high-performance offshore drones to new materials, sensors, and long-term trials: AquaCampus provides permanent access to a test site that previously required vessels and favourable weather. This makes it unique in Europe as offshore research infrastructure.
