Benefits of membership in the association

Why become a member of AquaVentus?

Political influence and positioning

Shaping policy rather than merely following it: joint positions, consultations and concrete proposals for policy and regulation

Members contribute to joint positions and formal responses, bringing practical experience into political processes. This includes consultations and legislative procedures around the German Offshore Wind Energy Act and its tenders, marine spatial planning, grid development planning and European frameworks.

Greater regulatory clarity while preserving room for technological innovation.

A network that works

Direct connections to relevant players from industry, research and policy in the North Sea region and beyond

AquaVentus provides formats that create exchange and connections, among them parliamentary talks, roundtables, working groups and briefings. Members get the opportunity to discuss their topics directly with policymakers, authorities and key players.

European perspective and international cooperation

Cooperation across borders towards an integrated hydrogen market

Offshore hydrogen is European. AquaVentus strengthens cooperation in the North Sea region through delegation trips, partner formats and collaboration with international organisations. Members gain new contacts, projects and market opportunities beyond national borders.

Close to projects and practice

Exchange on demonstration and scale-up projects as well as infrastructure and market ramp-up

AquaVentus connects strategy with implementation. Members gain insight into project families and demonstrators, can initiate partnerships and get involved in ventures early on. This applies in particular to offshore electrolysis, hybrid connections, pipeline infrastructure, permitting pathways and standardisation.

A knowledge advantage through studies, data and expert formats

Access to studies, briefings and insights into current developments in offshore hydrogen and hybrid infrastructure

Members gain access to relevant analyses and study results as well as to expertise from the working groups. This covers technical, economic and regulatory questions, for instance on offshore sector coupling, system costs and infrastructure planning.

Visibility and reach

Joint communication, events and formats for members and partners

AquaVentus makes membership visible. Members benefit from presence on the website, in communication formats and at events. They can also place their own projects, perspectives and contributions within the network.
