Commitment to wind power and renewable energy
Wind power has long made an important contribution to generating electricity from renewable sources. Germany aims to obtain 65 per cent of its electricity from renewables by 2030. Wind is regarded as a promising source and plays a central role in energy policy.
The AVIA group entered electricity generation in June 2013. Eight wind turbines with a combined capacity of 20 megawatts currently feed electricity into the grid, enough to supply around 15,000 households with renewable energy and saving almost 36,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
