WindMW GmbH was founded in 2008 and is responsible for the planning, financing and construction of the offshore wind farms Meerwind Süd and Meerwind Ost. The company is located in Zossen, south of the Berlin city limits. The 80 offshore wind turbines at the two offshore wind farms located off Helgoland have been feeding a total output of up to 288 MW into the power grid since 2014, supplying nearly 360,000 households with climate-friendly electricity. In 2016, WindMW Service GmbH was founded as a subsidiary of WindMW GmbH. It is responsible for the operation of Meerwind Süd | Ost.
