Wind has enormous power.
Wind energy has long made an important contribution to electricity generation from renewable sources. Wind sets the rotor blades of wind turbines in motion. This drives a generator and the electricity generated is fed into the grid.
Germany aims to generate 65% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Wind power is considered a promising energy source and plays a central role in energy policy.
In June 2013, the AVIA Group entered the electricity production business. Currently, 8 wind turbines with 20 megawatts of power provide electricity that is fed into the grid. Around 15,000 households can be supplied with renewable energy. The plants will save almost 36,000 tons of CO2.
